AI Card Scanner

Overview

Creating listings one card at a time is the single biggest reason sellers stall out, especially at volume. The AI Card Scanner takes that away. You point your camera at a card and it figures out what it is and builds the draft for you. I led product and design on the scanning flow and the recognition pipeline behind it.

The Problem

• 🚫Making a listing by hand for every card is slow and easy to get wrong
• 🚫Sellers with a lot of inventory were stuck on data entry, which kept cards from ever reaching the marketplace
• 🚫Recognition had to be both accurate and fast enough to feel instant on a phone

The Goals

• 🎯Recognize a card and fill in its details in seconds
• 🎯Make it easy to scan a lot of cards back to back
• 🎯Keep the whole thing mobile first and able to survive a reload or navigating away

What I Shipped

• 🎮A camera scan flow that handles orientation and shows a live scans left count
• 🎮An AI pipeline that returns ranked match candidates for the card you scanned
• 🎮A Fast Scan wizard that grabs a bit of guidance context up front to make recognition sharper
• 🎮Scan results that stick around through reloads and navigation, plus a bulk feed for scanning a stack of cards in a row

The Results

The scanner is now one of the main ways sellers add inventory on Sync My Cards. (Metrics to add, like cards scanned, recognition accuracy, or time saved per listing.)
