Messages Redesign

Overview

My Card Post runs on real relationships between collectors, so messaging isn't a side feature, it is core infrastructure. Deals, offers, and trades all start in a conversation. I redesigned messaging to feel modern and to connect the chat directly to the cards people are talking about.

The Problem

• 🚫The old chat felt dated and disconnected from the rest of the product
• 🚫Conversations had no listing context, so it wasn't clear which card a message was about
• 🚫Doing anything, like making an offer or jumping to a listing, meant leaving the conversation

The Goals

• 🎯Bring messaging in line with the redesigned marketplace
• 🎯Surface the card and its context right inside the conversation
• 🎯Let people act on a deal without leaving the chat

What I Shipped

• 🎮A cleaner, modern chat that matches the rest of the platform
• 🎮Per listing action buttons that match the exact card in the conversation, so the right move is always one tap away
• 🎮Tighter ties between messages, listings, and offers
